- UNITE HERE Helps Lead Immigration Reform Push 2/1/2007
A diverse coalition that includes the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Catholic bishops, community leaders, as well as UNITE HERE and SEIU, launched an attempt this week to push a comprehensive overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws. The Alliance for Immigration Reform 2007 includes UNITE HERE, SEIU, the National Council of La Raza, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the US Conference of Bishops, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Restaurant Association. Leaders of the group believe that the plan stands a good chance in the newly Democratic Congress to legalize millions of undocumented workers in the United States.

- Danny Glover Joins Food Service Workers to Demand Change 2/1/2007
On January 29, more than 250 people including cafeteria workers, local faith and community leaders, actor/activist Danny Glover, and farmworker organizer Dolores Huerta called on companies in the Silicon Valley, CA, to adopt a Responsible Contractor Code of Conduct to ensure that the rights of food service workers are respected.

- Immigrant Hotel Workers' March Draws Thousands in LA 10/6/2006
Over 2,000 demonstrators, including musician Tom Morello, closed Century Boulevard near the Los Angeles International Airport during evening rush hour on September 28 to demand an end to the exploitation of immigrant workers at nearby hotels.
- UNITE HERE Hotel Members Conclude Negotiations, Win Contracts 9/15/2006
After almost two years of working without a contract, San Francisco hotel workers concluded a new contract this week with the Multi-Employer Group (MEG), that encompasses five years, three years forward and two years back. The contract grants higher wages, better pensions and full healthcare benefits to more than 4,200 members of UNITE HERE Local 2.

Actor Danny Glover joined UNITE HERE last week to launch the Service Workers Rising! campaign, an effort to improve the lives of 100,000 UNITE HERE members employed in the Laundry, Airport concessions and the Food Service industries across North America.
- Casino Workers Back to Work After Week-Long Budget Crisis 7/6/2006
Thousands of UNITE HERE members were laid-off earlier this week during a stand-off by the NJ Legislative Assembly that shut down casino operations and racetracks in New Jersey. The state government was shut down over the weekend when lawmakers failed to pass a budget by the July 1 deadline. Following a rally of UNITE HERE members at the steps of the State House in Trenton, and intense mobilizing by workers and their supporters, a state budget was approved on Thursday and workers returned to work.
- INMEX Launch Promises New Oversight for Hotel Event Planning 6/30/2006
Earlier this week, the Informed Meetings Exchange (INMEX) was launched to help advise meeting planners that want information on the labor situation at hotels in cities across North America. UNITE HERE has established INMEX to help organizations spend their hotel group business dollars in a way that is more consistent with their institutional values. and to transform the hotel industry into one that treats its employees fairly.
- Sleep With the Right People 5/18/2006
This week, a new campaign developed in coordination with the LGBT community was released to support hotel workers across North America in their effort to achieve the American Dream for themselves and their families. With the participation of key figures in the gay and lesbian movement, this campaign promises to help build support for thousands of hotel workers who are being paid poverty wages, have unaffordable benefits and want to build up their communities.
- It's Time to Make Work Pay! 4/27/2006
